Geman Hardtop information, scans, and translation provided by Marco Marinello www.elevenparts.com

Article from Auto Motor Und Sport
November 1961 (translated from the German)

Porsche is concentrating the production and therefore has decided to end the production of the Roadster. In the future there will be only the Coupe, the Hardtop and the Cabriolet. But many customers are still driving the Roadster and the Convertible. Even the Speedster can be seen at many Motor-sport events. These sporty open cars have the disadvantage over the Cabriolet not to have a good weather protection over the winter period. The top has always left some wishes open. There have been various tries to make a hardtop, but none of the products have been successfully produced. Now, the company Meinhard in Munich, together with the Nauheimer Karosseriefabrik, have developed a new hardtop. This new product looks very good and seems to be very well made. One can change this 15 kg hardtop without extra help in only minutes. The rear window is vented. The price DM 1050.00
