Southern California Sports Car — "Down to the Sea in the Convertible D"

In the March, 1959 issue of Southern California Sports Car magazine there was an amusing article on the Convertible D model, titled "Down to the Sea in the Convertible D". It describes a combination road trip / road test of a 1600 Normal Convertible D provided by "Johnny von Neumann's Competition Motors in Hollywood". The author of the article is not identified. The photos appear to have been taken on the shore of the Salton Sea in Southern California. Note that the license plate shown on page two of the article is a California dealer plate, and that the car apparently had a radio installed, as an antenna is visible but unfortunately there are no photos of the car's interior. Read the article.
